Who We AreYou may wonder that we are over 100 years old--a mere child when compared with other great churches across the land. And a mere baby compared with the historical cathedrals of Europe. But... Miami First United Methodist Church is who we are. This site is the creation of a member who joined that church over 50 years ago, and, of course, the pastor, Emilio Chaviano. Miami First United Methodist Church is a union of two great downtown churches--Trinity Methodist Church and White Temple Methodist Church. You will find us in downtown Miami at 400 Biscayne Boulevard, right cross from Bay Side Mall and American Airlines Arena. The Reverends Larry Winebrenner and Emilio Chaviano dreamed up this site for Bible study. It happened when Larry began teaching an immensely popular Bible course. What do you think of Revelation? The material in the course is about the book of Revelation. The course uses a text that sees Revelation as a statement of God's mercy and God's love rather than a proclamation of horror and terror. Class members responded warmly to this examination and emphasis. That success motivated plans for other Bible study courses. All the courses will be provided free to the public. A workbook for the study of Revelation was produced and placed online in the lessons. Plans for future free workbooks for other lesson series are now in progress.
